Software as a service (SaaS) is an increasingly popular approach to delivering software via the web. SaaS differs from the Application Service Provider (ASP) model where the software that was hosted was never designed to be delivered over the web. This session will focus on the advantages and disadvantages of this approach to building software, the technical and social challenges, and the economics of this approach for the delivery of software applications.
