In 2007, socially responsible investments (SRI) accounted for $2.7 trillion in assets, or an estimated 11% of assets under professional management in the United States. Ms. Bavaria and Mr. Kinder will discuss the industry's evolution from its inception in the 1960's as a niche investment approach related to social and environmental movements to what it has become today - a global values-based industry encompassing a diverse range of investment vehicles and methodologies. They will also provide their thoughts on the future of socially responsible investing.
Ms. Bavaria has served as Founding President and CEO of Trillium Asset Management since its incorporation in 1982. She is also Founding Chair of Ceres, an organization which works with companies on issues of environmental reporting, community outreach and various environmental justice issues.
Mr. Kinder has served as President of KLD Research & Analytics, Inc. since its founding in 1988. He has co-authored three books on social investing and written dozens of articles for publication on four continents.
