“Medical Foods…a Different Type of Winning Innovation”

Cambrooke Foods was formed out of necessity and a bit of frustration by Lynn and David Paolella…a family history of PKU (Phenylklonuria, a genetic metabolic disorder that requires a strict low-protein diet) is what spurred Lynn and David into developing and manufacturing foods for this special need. The “Camino pro” Modular Medical Food System (MSUD) and the model behind the business make this a very unique and innovative approach to solving a problem shared by many.

David Paolella is a registered architect who left his practice to join his wife in their mission to feed their children and others with PKU. His professional background and their passion to serve others bring a unique perspective to Cambrooke’s approach to clinical nutrition.

Successfully developing and marketing value-added dietary therapy products in a highly regulated and mature market is just one of many challenges facing these innovative entrepreneurs. Rising to this challenge, Cambrooke Foods’ market success is only one reason the company was awarded the 2008 New England Innovation Award.
