Entrepreneurs with great ideas assume that investors will want a piece of the action and will fund their company. Our speaker, Margaret Lawrence, will address the issues that help an investor determine if a company is appropriate for institutional investment, and discuss when in a company's lifecycle it should try to obtain Venture Capital or Angel funding.

Margaret H. Lawrence is a partner at Pilot House Ventures Group, LLC, a Boston, Massachusetts-based Venture Capital firm that invests in promising early stage technology companies, including enterprise software, network infrastructure, internet and communications companies. Margaret has been investing in information technology companies since 1998, and brings a combination of investment and information technology expertise to the firm. Prior to joining Pilot House, Margaret was at Chestnut Partners, a Boston-based merchant banking/venture capital firm that invests in and provides financial advisory work to early-stage software companies. Margaret began her career at Lehman Brothers where she focused on mergers, acquisitions and corporate finance transactions. Margaret currently serves on the Board of Directors of nTAG, SupplyScape and works closely with Camiant. Margaret earned a BA from Williams College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
