from Boston Security Analysts Society
This event has passed.
Tuesday, November 18, 2008, 12:15pm - 2:00pm

Speaker:
Rafael Resendes, Cofounder
The Applied Finance Group (AFG)

Program:

Mr. Resendes will discuss how the market rewards and punishes firms on the basis of:

- Economic performance
- Management quality
- Deviations from intrinsic value

Mr. Resendes will provide an overview of how GAAP distorts the measurement of a firms true economic performance and the underlying strengths and weaknesses of alternatives, such as EVA and CFROI. In addition, he will discuss an economic margin framework and how it links corporate performance to intrinsic value by explicitly combining corporate performance, competition, risk, and growth.

Before founding AFG, Mr. Resendes co-directed the research processes at HOLT Value Associates, where he helped develop the domestic and international valuation models used by more than 100 institutional investors.
