Life Sciences Presentation and Panel: A Call to Arms - Data Standards in Collaborative Research
from Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council (MTLC)
This event has passed.
Tuesday, December 2, 2008, 3:30pm - 5:00pm
Dr. Martin Leach, Executive Director, Basic Research and Biomarker IT, Merck Research Laboratories.
Arguing that the rate of development and adoption of research data standards has been unsatisfactory, Martin challenges the life sciences community in general - and the biopharma community in particular - to leverage lessons learnt in the clinical realm. He aims to extend recent successes in the adoption of data standards in areas like gene expression analysis into other critical areas, such as pharmacology and translational medicine.
Joined by colleagues from several leading life sciences organizations, Martin's address will be followed immediately by a panel discussion probing what can and is being done toward the development and adoption of research data standards and asking 'if not, why not.'
