Kimberly A. DeTrask, CFA, Assistant Vice President, Supervision, Regulation and Credit Department, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

Ms. DeTrask will discuss the U.S banking system's new advanced capital adequacy framework, commonly referred to as Basel II. Effective April 1, 2008, Basel II represents a significant evolution in regulatory risk-based capital requirements, to a much more risk sensitive framework. Ms. DeTrask will discuss the scope of application in the U.S., primary components of the advanced approaches, and supervisory expectations for banks implementing Basel II.

At the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Ms. DeTrask is responsible for supervisory efforts related to the implementation of Basel II. She was an active member and former team captain of the group responsible for wholesale credit aspects of Basel II qualification.
