Alternative Beta, or hedge fund replication, has received a lot of press lately as firms such as Merrill Lynch, Goldman, JPMorgan, and Stonebrook have introduced products. How have these products performed over one year later? How do they work? Are there any insights we can glean from their designs? Dr. Abernathy will explore these questions, starting with fund-of-funds, progressing to alternative beta, then moving on to alpha products that take advantage of ideas inspired by alternative beta designs.
Dr. Abernathy founded Stonebrook in 1993. Prior to that, he was Director of Research at Moore Capital Management, Inc.
