Let the Platform Wars Begin: How Can PaaS Vendors Support Your SaaS Offering?
from Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council (MTLC)
This event has passed.
Friday, May 16, 2008, 7:30am - 10:00am

The wars have already begun and marketing machines are coming out with the latest Platform as a Service (PaaS) positioning statements. In this presentation, Colleen Smith, Managing Director of Software as a Service at Progress Software, will discuss the different forms of PaaS that she has seen come on to the market and what it means to ISVs and Business Service Providers looking to make a Platform decision.

Colleen has spent the last 3 years at Progress Software working with ISVs on SaaS Enablement and helping many traditional ISVs to make the transition to SaaS - prior to that she spent over 4 years as an Industry Analyst and has over 15 years experience in the Enterprise Applications market.

Based on the formation of the new term "PaaS," this session will try and help to provide clarity around definitions of PaaS alternatives, discuss vendors that are playing in this space, and provide questions you need to be asking about how PaaS vendors will support the business requirements of an ISV or Business Service Provider (BSP) into the future.
