Thursday, September 18, 2008, 7:45am - 9:00am
This Women's Network Roundtable session will present a framework to manage strategic networks and relationships both inside and outside organizations. Through the use of network-mapping, participants will analyze their networks and develop an action plan to "fill in the gaps" in a structured, systematic way. Ultimately, participants will create a plan to strategically expand their current network to achieve a stated goal.
Dr. Stacy Blake-Beard, the leader of this session, is an associate professor at the Simmons School of Management and senior faculty affiliate at the institution's Center for Gender in Organizations. Her research focuses on the challenges and opportunities offered by mentoring relationships, the impact of workforce diversity, and the growing importance of women mentors. Prior to joining the faculty at Simmons, Dr. Blake-Beard was the assistant professor of administration, planning, and social policy at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. She continues to consult with a number of organizations on issues of diversity, including Chase Manhattan Bank, The Compact for Faculty Diversity, and PepsiCo.
